PREPARE FOR YOUR BRIDAL TRIAL
an unforgettable look, and second glances.
STYLE & INSPO
- Bring several photos of desired styles you love and what about each one stands out to you. Looking for inspiration? I would suggest Pinterest for some fabulous bridal styles or browse my gallery!
- Provide detail about any allergies to hair products so I can be sure to match products appropriately.
- Bring pictures of your dress and be ready to provide details surrounding your wedding makeup and the theme & style of your wedding so I can provide some great options and recommendations. Boho, classy, sleek, or minimalist bride? I want to be able to assess what matches your personality and all the other details you’ve put into your day so that your hair can complement them!
- Bring accessories. Whether you plan to have a veil, tiaras, clip-in hair extensions, hair comb, flower crowns, you name it. Bring it. Even earrings you plan to wear help. This is our chance to put together your look the way you envisioned it and determine the amount of time necessary to get you ready for your big day.
- Arrive to your consultation with freshly washed completely dry hair. Never straighten or style with products before your appointment. This will give you the most volume and styling playfulness rather than dirty or oily hair. Never come to your consultation or day-of wedding appointment with wet hair as this will further delay the schedule and cost additional. Again timing is key to making this run smoothly!
LOCATION & SCHEDULE
- Consultation appointments are best done at the salon! This gives me the chance to have all the tools available to use and work with, and know what will need to be brought to the venue day-of. It also gives me a good understanding how much time we’ll need to get you and your party ready.
- If you can help it, don’t bring an entourage. I know it’s enticing and having others’ opinions seems helpful, but it can easily distract and in my experience, causes second-guessing when this is about your day. If there are close friends or family that have some thoughts, bring some inspiration photos that they can add to the mix and meet up with your entourage after the appointment for a fun reveal instead! For brides with an entire party getting their hair done, it’s important to schedule these in more of an orderly fashion than all at once so that I can focus on each hair style individually.
- Consultations typically can take a half hour to an hour. In an effort to make sure your wedding day hair is the best, I like to create a baseline look that we can tailor and polish the final updo on your big day.
- Make sure to be on time to your appointment as these cannot be rescheduled, unless emergency or illness occurs. Additional fee will be added to late arrivers. Cancellations are a non-refundable deposit.
- Provide wedding details regarding schedule of pictures & ceremony so that I can make a detailed determination of a start time the day of the wedding and based on your party size, if additional assistance is needed.
- Changes after consultation to hair style or party size will cost additional. It’s important that the consultation confirms planning around the number of hair styles needed and answers any and all questions regarding the hair styles, so if there are changes after the fact, this can create a ripple affect when it comes to safe planning and preparation. The trial run is so there are no surprises, so if you do run into something where there are changes, we will need to schedule to discuss. This cost is not factored in to the original pre-session.
A BEAUTIFUL DAY TO REMEMBER
and so, the adventure begins.
THE COUNTDOWN
- Plan to wash your hair the night before or morning of your big day. Be sure your hair is completely dry and never straighten or style with products before your appointment. And just to remind you – get a good night’s sleep! You want to be and feel well rested before the big day festivities.
- Prepare an emergency kit and gather all hair pieces night before. This emergency kit will include a variety of items to make sure you don’t find yourself in a bind, but make sure to include a few extra ‘hair accessories’ so you can keep your look up for the full day. At your consultation, we will discuss in detail what specifics should be included to alleviate any hair snags.
- Notify your party of itinerary. No questions about the wedding day schedule should go unanswered. Make sure everyone in your party is promptly at the hair appointment(s). You want to be sure that your bridal party hair is done and they are dressed so they can be available to get you ready! I will want to confirm venue, arrival times, photographer set up, final payments, and any other details to avoid potential hiccups. If any party member is late to the scheduled appointment, this will impact the flow of the day and could result in additional charges.
- Final payments are due the day of your wedding and costs will be determined at your consultation. Cash, Venmo, or Credit Card are best payment options.
- Important that on-site location has the proper amenities. I will need to bring all of my tools and accessories necessary to help with your hair, however, it is important to note that these locations have a good setup to accommodate (clean, nearby outlets, chairs, table, full length mirror, etc).
Cancellation
Policy
All appointments have a non-refundable deposit. If party size has significant changes due to cancellations, this impacts both schedule and the bride could be subject to an additional charge to compensate booking changes.
Any cancellations related to COVID illness will not be subject to a cancellation fee, however, the initial deposit will not be refunded. Please respect not spreading illness to others, especially on such an important celebratory day.
